In BoldSales, roles are an essential part of managing user permissions. Deleting a role is a simple process, but it’s important to ensure that no active users or permissions are tied to the role before proceeding.

You have a role that is no longer needed, such as a temporary project role or a role that was incorrectly created, and you need to delete it to simplify your user management.

As your team grows, you may decide to restructure roles within the CRM. Deleting outdated roles can help streamline user access and improve security.

During organizational changes, delete roles tied to dissolved departments to align with the new structure.
Steps to delete a role
Accessing the roles section
- Navigate to Setup (Shortcut Shift + *).
- Go to Users and Teams > Roles.
Selecting the role to delete
- Find the role you want to delete in the Roles list.
- Click on the more actions menu (three dots) next to the role.
- Select Delete from the options.
Confirming the deletion

If no users are assigned to the role:
- The prompt will ask:
- Are you sure you want to delete this role?
- Confirm to proceed by clicking Delete.

If users are assigned to the role:
- The prompt will display:
- Are you sure you want to delete this role? Transfer users and sub-roles to [parent role].
- Select a Parent role to transfer the users and sub-roles to, ensuring they maintain necessary permissions.
- After selecting the parent role, click Transfer & Delete to proceed with the deletion.
