How to view, search and interpret audit logs

Updated:

Audit logs provide a record of configuration and administrative changes made in BoldSales. This KB explains how to access audit logs, search and filter results, and interpret log entries to understand what was changed, by whom, and when.

Note for non-admin users: If you don’t have access to view Manage audit logs in Setup, contact your BoldSales administrator to request the required permission.
Note for administrators: For managing permissions, refer to Managing User Permissions (Permission Set)

Accessing Audit Logs

To view Audit Logs, go to Setup > Security > Audit Logs or search for Audit Logs in the Setup search bar from the left sidebar menu.
Once the Audit Logs page opens, it shows changes made to configuration settings in BoldSales. They help you track what was changed, who made the change, and when it happened.

What users see on the Audit Logs page

Settings Audit Trail

Each log entry provides detailed information about system changes, including:

  • Timestamp – The exact date and time the action occurred.
  • Category – The type of record or setting that was modified.
  • Action – Indicates whether the item was created, modified, or deleted.
  • Performed by – The user who initiated the change and the IP address that is the source location of the action.
  • Action details – This section provides a clear and detailed breakdown of what was modified during the action. It outlines the specific setting or field that changed, the previous value and the new value applied, and indicates whether the item was added, updated, or deleted. It also specifies the module or category where the change occurred, ensuring a complete and transparent summary of the exact modifications made.

  • Before and after values – a side by side comparison showing the previous state and the new state applied.
  • Additional context – any associated information, such as which related item was affected or any supporting notes tied to the change.
