Adding a New Task

Tasks in BoldSales can be created from multiple areas across the application. This guide explains how to open the task creation form, fill in the essential details, and switch to the expanded form when additional information is needed.

Note for non-admin users: If you don’t have access to configure or manage Tasks, contact your BoldSales administrator to request the required permission.

Note for administrators: For managing permissions, refer to Understanding permissions in activities module.

Adding a new task

There are multiple ways to access the task creation form:

From the tasks module
  1. From the left sidebar, click Activities and select Tasks
  2. Click + Task icon at the top right of the tasks page (Shortcut: N+T).
Using the global add icon
  1. Click the Adding a new event using the global add icon icon at the top right of the page.
  2. From the dropdown menu, select Task.
From a record’s details page
  1. Open the contact, company, or pipeline record you want to associate the task with.
  2. Go to the Tasks tab and click + Task icon

In all the above options, a quick form appears, allowing you to enter essential details quickly.

If you want to update additional information not shown in the quick form, click the Expand create form icon to open the full creation form. The expanded form displays additional fields based on how your tasks fields are configured.

Filling in more task details

When expanded form opens, fill in the following fields. The available fields in the form may vary based on how your tasks fields are configured.

  • Subject - Enter a clear and concise title for the task, as it serves as the main identifier. Please note that the subject field has a maximum limit of 255 characters.
  • Due date - Specify when the task should be completed.
  • Priority - Select the urgency level for the task (e.g., High, Medium, Low).
  • Owner - Choose the user responsible for the task.
  • Type - Select the task type (e.g. General, Follow-up, To-do).
  • Status - Indicate the current state of the task (e.g., Open, In Progress, Completed).
  • Description - Add detailed notes or instructions related to the task.

Adding fields to the expanded form

The fields that appear in the expanded form depend on the tasks field configuration. If you want to add more fields to the form or change which ones are required, you can configure them from Setup > Activities > Tasks.
