Using permission sets to control access
Permission sets in BoldSales provide a flexible way to manage user access to modules and actions, independent of roles. They allow administrators to fine-tune permissions based on job responsibilities, ensuring better control, security, and a tailored user experience.
Use cases
Sales team access control
Allow sales representatives to view and edit only their assigned deals without accessing company-wide data.
Limited editing for support teams
Grant customer support user(s) permissions to view and comment on customer records but restrict editing or deleting data.
Restricted deletion
Prevent non-admin users from deleting records while allowing them to create and update data.
Create a permission set
- Navigate to Setup > Security > Permission Sets.
- Click + Create Permission Set.
- Enter a name and a brief description and under Clone from choose from the drop-down.
- If you don’t want to create a new one you can click Clone from the action menu of an existing permission set.
- Click on the permission set to configure permissions (View, Edit, Delete) for each module.
Assign a permission set to a user
- Go to Setup > Users and Teams > Users.
- Select the user you want to modify.
- Click Edit on the permission set section then select the appropriate permission set from the dropdown
- Click the Save to apply.
Edit a permission set
- Navigate to Setup > Security > Permission Sets.
- Click on the permission set you want to modify.
- Adjust the permissions as needed.
- Click Save to apply the changes.
Delete a permission set
- Navigate to Setup > Security > Permission Sets.
- Locate the permission set you want to remove.
- Click on the more actions menu next to the permission set name and click Delete.
- A confirmation dialog will appear, asking you to verify the action before assigning the permission set to the current users.
- Click Assign & Delete to remove the permission set.
The Standard User system permission set includes a toggle option to enable or disable access only in the Pipelines module. In all other modules, the access option appears as Granted but dormant. It cannot be toggled or modified.

No, each user can be assigned only one permission set at a time.

The user’s permission set cannot be removed but can be adjusted by assigning different permission set based on their role.
