Navigating BoldSales

This guide provides a quick overview of the BoldSales interface, including navigation, search, quick actions, and the location of key features to help you get started quickly.

If you don’t see a particular module or option in your interface, it might be due to access restrictions based on your permission set.

Understanding the BoldSales layout

Top bar

The top bar remains visible throughout the entire BoldSales application, ensuring you have quick access to essential tools and actions from any screen.

  • AI Chat (HelpBot) – Get instant answers and assistance directly within the CRM without leaving your workflow.
  • Compose email shortcut – Start a new email instantly from anywhere in the app.
  • Quick create icon for notes – Capture important thoughts or updates on the go.
  • Global quick create icon (+) – Add new records such as deals, contacts, or tasks instantly from any screen.
  • Profile – Contains options to manage your personal settings, access the help center, view keyboard shortcuts, switch between light and dark themes, and log out securely.

Sidebar

Navigate BoldSales effortlessly using the sidebar, which is your central hub for accessing all modules and configuration options. The sidebar is always available from any part of the application, allowing you to move between modules easily.

  • Home page - Displays a quick overview of your work, including activities, contacts, deals, and documents in one place. Use the + icon to add new records and select View all to see the complete list.
  • Global search - Helps you quickly find contacts, companies, deals, products, sales documents, tasks, and events across BoldSales. Results appear based on the selected module.
  • Pipelines - Allows you to manage and monitor pipelines such as deals, contracts, renewals as they move through various stages of your sales process. Hover over the icon to view and switch between different pipelines.
  • Contacts - Stores information about leads, prospects, and customers, helping you manage relationships effectively.
  • Companies - Stores information about the companies you do business with, helping you manage relationships and link related contacts, deals, and activities.
  • Activities - The activities section consists of four modules such as tasks, events, emails, and notes. When you hover over it, these sections are displayed, allowing you to select and access any of them to view or manage your activities efficiently.
  • Sales documents - Provides a centralized view of all documents associated with your records, such as quotes and contracts, making it easy to review and track their progress.
  • Products - Maintains a catalog of your products or services, including details like pricing and descriptions.
  • Setup – Enables you to customize BoldSales according to your business needs by configuring modules, roles, permissions, pipelines, custom fields, workflow settings, notification settings, reviewing audit logs, and more.

This is the main area in BoldSales where sales teams view, manage, and update their records in each module as part of their daily work.

Listing pages

When you click a module, such as Contacts, from the sidebar, you’ll be taken to that module’s listing page. The listing page displays all records in a grid view, allowing you to manage data efficiently. From here, you can:

  • Add new records using the + {Module} button. For example, click + Contact in the Contacts module to add a new contact.
  • Perform bulk actions such as deleting multiple records, sending bulk emails, updating ownership, or importing data.
  • Use pagination controls to view more records per page and navigate to the next pages.
  • Click any record to open its details page for editing or reviewing information.
  • Each listing page includes tools like filters, views, and sorting options, making it easier to focus on records that matter most to your workflow.

Record pages

Each record page in BoldSales gives you a complete view and control of your data. From here, you can:

  • Review complete record details and timeline updates in one place.
  • Update the record.
  • Link the record to other related records from contacts, companies, or pipelines.
  • Create and organize notes, tasks, and events seamlessly from the same page, keeping your workflow uninterrupted.
  • Send, receive, and review emails associated with the record.
  • View, upload, and manage files related to the record.

Use views, filters, and sorting

  • Use the Views panel in each module to switch between saved views and instantly display data that matters most to your workflow. Each view is built on specific filters, allowing you to focus on targeted records like recently added contacts, deals in progress, or tasks due today without setting up filters manually every time.
  • Click the Filter button to refine your list of records using conditions based on fields, operators, and values. You can combine multiple rules (for example, Stage = Negotiation and Owner = Me) to narrow down the results precisely. Once configured, click Apply to see matching records or Save as to store your filter for future use.
  • Use the Add or Remove columns icon to display only the fields you need such as Name, Email, Created on, or Owner — so you can view the information that matters most. Once you have modified the columns to show for the particular view using this option, it will override the default columns configured for that view. However, this will affect only you not other users.
  • Click the Sort by button to organize records in ascending or descending order based on a chosen field. This helps you quickly identify top-priority items, such as sorting deals by Close Date, tasks by Due Date, or contacts, making data navigation faster and more intuitive.

Navigating using keyboard

Move around BoldSales faster with keyboard shortcuts. Press Shift + ? to open the shortcuts dialog and see options for:

  • App navigation shortcuts - Jump to home, modules, search, and setup.
  • Create actions - Add contacts, pipeline records, tasks, or notes instantly.
  • View and grid actions - Switch pages, expand/collapse view/filter drawers.
  • Email actions - Reply, forward emails quickly.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Why is a module not visible to me?

If a module isn’t visible to you, it could be due to your permission settings. Please contact your admin to check if access can be granted.

Can I reorder modules?

The order of core modules is fixed. You can only reorder the pipelines in the Business Process Pipelines module, from Setup.

What is the difference between tasks and events?

Tasks are actions with due dates. Events are time-based appointments.
