Sorting Contacts

Updated:

You can sort contacts in BoldSales based on certain fields. This guide explains how sorting works, how it can be applied permanently or temporarily, and which fields support sorting.

Configuring default sorting in a view

To apply permanent sorting, you can either edit an existing view or create a new view and define the sorting within the view settings. The selected Sort by field and Sort order are saved as the default for that view, ensuring records are always displayed in the chosen order. For more information on updating and creating a custom view, refer to Understanding views.

  • When editing an existing view, update the sorting options in the Edit Details panel and save the changes.
  • When creating a new view, define the sorting during setup before saving the view.

Access control:

  • View owners can configure and update sorting for their custom views.
  • Admins can modify sorting in system views, but cannot update sorting in other users’ custom views.

Temporary sorting from the listing page

You can temporarily override the default sorting defined in a view. When you select a different Sort by field and order (Ascending or Descending), the change applies only to your current session. The sorting preference is stored in the URL, not in the view settings.

If you refresh the page, the sorting may remain. However, navigating to another module and returning may reset the list to the default view sorting.

Only the view owner can define the permanent sort order inside the view settings.

To sort contacts:

  1. Go to the Contacts module from the left sidebar (Shortcut: G + C).
  2. Click the Sort by button at the top right. A Sorting drawer will open.
