Introduction to Products
Products represent the items or services that a business offers to its customers. The Products module stores a detailed catalog of all items the business sells, ensuring that pricing, categorization, billing models, and other attributes remain consistent across sales, billing, and operational teams. This article offers a brief guide to understanding the module, how to access it, and the actions you can perform within it.
Accessing products
Note for non-admin users: If you don’t have access to configure or manage Products, contact your BoldSales administrator to request the required permission.
Note for administrators: For details on managing permissions, refer to Understanding permissions in Products module.
You can access the products module in BoldSales using multiple ways:
- Click Products from the left sidebar menu.
- Use the keyboard shortcut G + P.
Once the listing page opens, you can perform the following actions based on your permissions.
- Create and edit products
- Filter and sort products
- Switch between default and custom views
- Customize columns to adjust what data is displayed
- Perform bulk actions on multiple product records
You can open a product record directly without navigating through the lists:
- Click this icon
in the left sidebar menu, or press / on your keyboard.
- In the search dialog, open the dropdown and select Products.
Note: Selecting this iconfrom the Products page will have Products chosen by default.
- Search for and select the product.
This opens the product’s details page, where you can view and manage all its information.
Primary product information
When creating a product, the create form helps to capture the key product information. The following are the mandatory fields for creating a product.
- Name - The name of the product.
- Selling type - Determines how the product is billed, whether sold once as a Standalone item or offered through a Subscription model billed on a recurring basis.
To add more fields to the create form, click Customize fields at the top right of the form.
