Syncing tasks with external calendars
You can sync your tasks in BoldSales with external calendars like Google or Outlook calendar to keep your schedule up to date across platforms. This guide explains the steps needed to connect your calendar and set up syncing options for tasks.
Use cases
Aligning BoldSales tasks with other schedules
A user wants to avoid conflicts between BoldSales tasks and other commitments. Syncing tasks to their external calendar allows them to see both in one view and plan accordingly.
Avoiding multiple apps
A user who primarily schedules their day in Outlook wants BoldSales related tasks to appear in their Outlook calendar. Syncing tasks helps them manage everything in one place without switching between apps.
Steps to sync tasks with external calendars
To connect your external calendar,
- Click on Setup from the left sidebar menu, then navigate to My Profile > Calendar Setup.
- Alternatively, click your profile icon at the top right of the page and select View profile & settings, then go to the Calendar tab.
- Connect your Google or Outlook calendar.

One-way or two-way sync
Choose how your calendar syncs with a connected external calendar. Click Edit under Mode and select your preferred mode.
The following items are ignored while syncing the external calendar to BoldSales.
- Only public events are synced. Private events from external calendars are ignored.
- Recurring events (including the original event) are not synced.
One-way sync
Updates are synced to your external calendar, but changes made outside BoldSales won’t sync back, except for edits to events or tasks originally created in BoldSales.
Two-way sync
Changes in either platform will sync to the other, keeping both calendars fully in sync. So, any update you make in BoldSales or in your external calendar will automatically reflect in both places. This ensures both calendars stay identical and up to date.
Setting up which activity types to sync
You can decide which activity types to sync between BoldSales and your connected external calendar. Click Edit under Activity type and choose one of the following options.
Tasks only
Tasks in BoldSales sync to your external calendar as events. Events from your external calendar will appear as tasks in BoldSales. External tasks are ignored.
Select which task types to sync with your external calendar:
- Click Edit under Tasks to sync to external calendar.
- Select one or more task types, such as General, Follow-up, To-do, or any custom types and save.
Additionally, when you select this option, since events from your external calendar will appear as tasks in BoldSales, you can decide which BoldSales task type to assign to these items.
- Click Edit under Events to sync from external calendar.
- Select one of the task types: General, Follow-up, To-do , or any preferred custom types and save.
Events and tasks
Select this option if you want both events and tasks to sync. This ensures that all scheduled activities in BoldSales appear in your external calendar and vice versa. You can also choose the task types to sync to your external calendar additionally.
Under this option, both tasks and events in BoldSales sync to your external calendar as events. External calendar events sync back into BoldSales as events. External tasks are ignored.
Events only
Select this option if you want to sync only events between BoldSales and your external calendar. This option is not effective if your goal is to sync tasks.
Under this option, events from BoldSales sync to your external calendar as events. Similarly, events from your external calendar sync back into BoldSales as events.
Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
What happens if my external calendar is disconnected?
Tasks already synced remain in the external calendar, but no new updates will occur until you reconnect. Reconnection resumes syncing without duplicating existing tasks.
What happens if I change a task in my external calendar?
If you have two-way sync enabled, changes will reflect in BoldSales. With one-way sync, changes outside BoldSales won’t sync back.
